Peer-reviewed articles can be found on several platforms. However, not all peer-reviewed articles are free or have Open Access (OP). Thus, we recommend the following sites that will help you out when looking for your sources:

CORE

Is a multidisciplinary aggregator of OA research. CORE has the largest collection of OA articles available. It allows users to search more than 219 million OA articles. While most of these link to the full-text article on the original publisher's site, or to a PDF available for download, five million records are hosted directly on CORE.

To find articles there follow the next steps:

  • Go to CORE
  • Click the magnifying glass icon on the upper right
  • Search the topic or term you're looking for. EXAMPLE: "Importance of Ethics in Nursing"
  • Click every article you think might be helpful for your research

ScienceOpen

Functioning as a research and publishing network, ScienceOpen offers OA to more than 74 million articles in all areas of science. Although you do need to register to view the full text of articles, registration is free.

  • Go to ScienceOpen
  • Register
  • Click the magnifying glass icon on the center
  • Search the topic or term you're looking for. EXAMPLE: "Study of microorganisms" (Make sure you search under the tab "Content"
  • Click every article you think might be helpful for your research

NCBI

The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is part of the United States National Library of Medicine. It archives several journal articles in the medicine area. This site is convenient when looking for articles to conduct research in nursing.
