How to Use Chegg

Written by Chiqui Villazana | Sep 7, 2022 6:00:07 PM

Chegg is an online platform students use to find solutions to math problems and textbook questions. At the same time, the platform aims to create a diverse team of tutors who can support educational innovation. We reviewed some main features of Chegg to give you a better idea about how you can take advantage of it as a study consultant.

First, let's discuss how to log in to Chegg.

Chegg has a very strict login verification, so if the site spots multiple people from different devices logging into the same account, it will get blocked. Now, as a solution, we gave each consultant access to their virtual credit card with a monthly limit of $25 that will auto-renew every month. They will create their own Chegg account with their GH G-suite email, and the subscription gets paid with the credit card balance.

If you need access to Chegg, make sure to request it at accounting@gradehacker.com. They will give you all the information you need to get a credit card and start using this tool.

Now, let's check the services you will use as a study consultant.

1. Chegg's Expert Q&A

The Q&A option will get you in touch with an expert in the field who will answer your question in less than 30 minutes. To get this answer, you’ll have to take a picture (or screenshot) of your homework and send it to Chegg. However, the best part of this service is that you can also see other people's questions and the expert's answers. To do so, we recommend you do a Google search with your questions + Chegg, like this:

Example: The most important nursing intervention to correct skin dryness is Chegg

That way, you'll get the answers on Google results. Make sure to check different answers from several experts to make sure the answer is correct. This method is useful when taking exams.

On the other hand, if you can't find the answer to the question you have, you can upload a question yourself and wait for an expert's answer.

IMPORTANT: Chegg gives us 20 questions per month, so use them wisely.

2. Chegg's Math Solver

Chegg's math solver is a life-saver if you're working on an assignment within these subjects:

  • Algebra
  • Pre-Algebra
  • Calculus
  • Precalculus
  • Geometry
  • Trigonometry
  • Statistics and Probability
  • Advanced Math

The best part of this service is that it not only gives you the answer, but also the step-by-step solution.

3. Chegg's Flashcards

Chegg's flashcard service is similar to what Quizlet does, but less effective. Still, if you can't find an answer or definition, it's worth to give them a try. You can find flashcards navigating on the home tab, clicking "Study Tool" and then "Find Flashcards." You can search the topic you are working on and check all the flashcards sets that Chegg has on that topic, or you can also search a specific question. An easier way to find flashcards with the answers you need, is to google search the question you have + Chegg Flashcards, like this:

Example: What is normal pH and which is acidic/alkaline? Chegg flashcards
